Kartell is celebrating the 1oth anniversary of its iconic lamp Bourgie designed by Ferruccio Laviani and presented in 2004.
Ten years later, and with worldwide sales of over 300 thousand lamps and countless articles and books, the Bourgie can be considered a success case in international design history.
The Bourgie is characterized by the transparent polycarbonate body reproducing the classical shape of a table lamp. But the different colors – black, gold, silver, matte white and multicolored titanium, pink and blue – make the Bourgie an iconic contemporary object and a beautiful piece of design.
For the 10th anniversary the Bourgie is declined in fourteen new ideas. Kartell has organized a special traveling exhibition “Re- Dessiner the Bourgie” that has just started in the Kartell store on Boulevard Saint Germain in Paris during Maison & Objet (24-28 January 2014 ). The Bourgie 10th anniversary exhibition will then travel to the Salone del Mobile in Milan in April, and to the ICFF in New York in May.
